Maldives Heritage Week in Sharjah organized by Sharjah Institute for Heritage began today. Inauguration ceremony was attended by Ambassador Shabeena, where talented group of Maldivians displayed their handiwork, performed local drum Boduberu & dances.
The Maldives Heritage Week was officially launched on Sunday, 24 January at the Cultural Heritage Centre Al Bait Al Gharbi, in the heart of Sharjah.
The event was opened by H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and H.E. Ms Aminath Shabeena, Ambassador of the Republic of the Maldives to UAE.
The Maldives Heritage Week activities last five days (24 – 28 January), and aims to transport heritage lovers, researchers, and specialists on a journey through the history, geography and heritage of the Maldives.
