Maldives in the UAE

The Maldives established diplomatic relations with the UAE on 15 March 1978.

The Embassy of Maldives accredited to UAE is in Abu Dhabi. His Excellency Ahmed Rasheed was appointed as the first Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates on 4th June 2012.

The current Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Arab Emirates is Her Excellency Ms Aminath Shabeena.

Consular

The Embassy of the Maldives in United Arab Emirates extends consular services to Maldivian nationals, residing in or visiting UAE.

Travel

You do not need to obtain a visa if you are visiting to Maldives as a tourist. Tourists from all nationalities are issued a 30-day visa on arrival.
